Exploring Control Schemes 🖱️

Pretty early on we had decided to pursue an all-Mouse Control game.

This meant exploring the ergonomical limitations of the device. Additionally, in the pursuit to make Excavation accessible for all audiences, we focused on creating the game with basic mouse in mind.

Secondly, the challenge was to retain the real-life experience of using the tools.

As a result, we used scroll wheel to replicate Hammering the chisel, etc.

Artist's book! 🎨

As the Artist and Designer, I was visualizing the playscreen and breaking down the necessary parts that were to be created.

This proved to be a baseline as I head into Photoshop and Maya to create all the 2D and 3D assets required.
